There’s no better way to explore your own city than to enjoy a staycation here and there. There are always new hotels and restaurants popping up; and even if there aren’t, you can always make stops at your favorite places.

We spent our anniversary this year with a staycation at the beautiful Gwen hotel, had pre-thunderstorm afternoon cocktails and snacks at the recently opened Noyane (the rooftop bar of the Conrad Hotel), and later finally made our way to a proper anniversary dinner on the balcony of Del Frisco’s Steakhouse.

If you haven’t yet been to Noyane, you’re missing out. I will say – while the food is quite delicious, it’s a bit pricey. I’d go with the gyoza, though. They’re just delicious. The cocktails, however, are worth every penny. They’re perfectly concocted for sips on the rooftop while watching the clouds go by. Noyane is a welcomed addition to the rooftop bar scene. With it’s prime location, it’s going to be a regular cocktail stop for us… as long as the weather cooperates.

Dinner at Del Frisco’s is always great. This time, we sat on the balcony, overlooking the Oak St. shops. It couldn’t have been a more perfect evening. Thank you to Del Frisco’s, too, for the awesome service and extra goodies like champagne and cheesecake.

I love this city. I love it’s vibe and food scene. Most of all, I love this man.
